Overview:

- We are looking for a seasoned attorney with substantial experience in coverage and a background in coverage litigation to join our Claims Legal team.
- Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of coverage/litigation experience, with a preference for those with experience in specialty (financial lines and public directors & officers) and general liability.
- This position offers the opportunity to provide legal advice and opinions on insurance coverage issues and counsel to internal constituents and service partners.
- As a member of our team, you will also have the opportunity to provide legal counsel, guidance, recommendations, and support for training initiatives and special projects.
- This is not an insurance defense/staff counsel position.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support to claims professionals and senior leadership in connection with various lines of business.
- Handle complex and/or severe first party claims, including providing coverage opinions and advice, legal assessment of liability and damages, and legal support for litigation.
- Oversee litigation by staff, coverage, or outside counsel, and monitor trials and legal and regulatory developments.
- Conduct research, legal analysis, and provide counsel and guidance on claim-related issues.
- Work independently in analyzing legal issues and developing effective dispute resolution strategies.
- Attend mediations, arbitrations, appraisals, settlement meetings, and conferences as business needs require.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to develop, present, and implement training initiatives for the claims organization.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and . required.
- Admission to the bar of at least one state, with the ability to obtain in-house counsel admission if required.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant legal experience with a proven track record of positive results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Value-driven and committed to providing superior solutions.
- Acts with a sense of urgency and ownership to advance organizational priorities.
- Collaborative and relationship-building skills.
- Continuously learning and broadening industry and technical skills.
