Summary:

The Department of Health is seeking a Senior Attorney to join their Prosecution Services Unit. The Senior Attorney will work independently within a team to prosecute violations of state law and administrative rules by licensees of the healthcare professions regulated by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. This is an open competitive opportunity with remote assignments available in investigative field office locations. The salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

- Review case files, develop legal opinions, and prepare probable cause recommendations including administrative complaints and closing orders.
- Present cases before healthcare licensure boards across the State of Florida.
- Represent the Department before the Division of Administrative Hearings and in circuit court.
- Provide timely and professional representation in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation, motion practice, discovery, trial presentation, witness examination, and post-hearing pleadings preparation.
- Manage an inventory of cases to ensure timely resolution in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Timely respond to public records requests, inquiries from counsel, and from other agencies regarding current cases.
