These positions will be funded by a grant from the Alabama Department of Mental Health and will provide legal representation to low-income individuals facing mental health conditions, substance use conditions, and/or intellectual disabilities. The primary focus of these positions will be on housing stabilization, but will also include civil legal matters in areas such as estate, family, housing, consumer, education, public benefits, and unemployment law. These positions will provide legal representation to low-income individuals dealing with mental health, substance use, and/or intellectual disability conditions. The primary focus of these positions will be on housing stabilization, but will also include other civil legal matters such as estate, family, housing, consumer, education, public benefits, and unemployment law. As a Mental Health Staff Attorney, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need while also gaining valuable legal experience and skills.
