Summary:

BDO is seeking a Tax Managing Director for their National Tax Office with a focus on ASC 740. This individual will be responsible for advising clients on tax implications, identifying methods to lessen tax burden and compliance costs, and acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. The Tax Managing Director will also play a critical role in the leadership team and will supervise and mentor other professionals. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant tax experience and a CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent certification. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Job Duties:

- Provide tax compliance services to clients while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
- Ensure compliance with Firm policies and standards
- Conduct research and provide analysis on complex tax issues
- Apply expertise in ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) tax accruals
- Assist with tax consulting to develop efficient methods for minimizing taxes
- Develop in-depth understanding of one or more areas of taxation
- Introduce and develop new strategies to benefit clients and the Firm
- Supervise and mentor other professionals
- Act as a career advisor and provide performance feedback to team members

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- 10+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or consulting/professional services
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty preferred
- CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent certification required
- Other professional degrees or certifications preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research databases
- Strong communication, delegation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in a team and develop and manage a team of tax professionals
- Executive presence and ability to maintain client relationships

Salary Information:

- California Range: $190,000 - $335,000
- Colorado Range: $170,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $205,000 - $250,000
- Washington Range: $180,000 - $240,000
