Qualifications Required: - JD and licensed attorney, preferably in NY or DC. - 5-10 years’ experience in payments-related matters in a law firm, bank, or regulatory agency, or on advocacy for the financial industry. - Ability to quickly understand complex business/legal concepts and problem-solve. - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships. - Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and produce quality work in a fast-paced environment. - Strong business judgment, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills. - Exceptional communication, research, and writing skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and virtual meeting platforms. - Willingness to travel for in-person meetings with regulators, legislative staff, member bank representatives, and conferences. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Draft or oversee the drafting of persuasive and effective advocacy documents for payments-related issues. - Advocate for TCH positions in meetings with federal agencies. - Act as one of TCH’s main points of contact for member executives on advocacy matters. - Develop and lead issue-oriented advocacy meetings with regulators, Congressional staff, and other industry groups. - Maintain strong relationships with government and legislative affairs staff at TCH owner banks and other trade associations. - Stay updated on developments in payments-related advocacy in real-time. - Serve as a subject matter expert for TCH staff. - Speak and participate in public forums as an expert and advocate for TCH’s views. - Assist with planning and executing The Clearing House's annual conference. - Other duties as assigned.
