Job Summary:
The Legal Services Organization is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Staff Attorney. This role involves providing legal representation, advocacy, and outreach to low-income individuals in a wide range of civil legal matters. The attorney will primarily handle cases related to housing, consumer, education, federal income tax, elder, employment, family law, housing, probate, and public benefits. Minimum Qualifications:
- Member of the South Carolina Bar
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedures, Rules of Evidence, Rules of the Family Court, and Rules of Appellate Procedure
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Excellent computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office 365
- Desire to work with diverse people and communities
- Commitment to public interest/poverty law
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
