CLA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager/Director to join our Exempt Tax Practice team. As a Tax Manager/Director, you will have the opportunity to work with clients in the healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit industries, providing them with valuable tax services and advice. This is a full-time position with flexible PTO, paid parental leave, paid volunteer time off, mental health coverage, and a quarterly wellness stipend. Responsibilities:

- Serve tax exempt clients in the healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit industries, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in these areas.
- Manage engagements and ensure operational excellence.
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services to clients.
- Conduct research and draft technical tax memoranda on various tax issues.
- Review and sign a variety of exempt organization returns.
- Mentor and develop staff members.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a tax role with a public accounting or professional services firm, specializing in tax exempt organizations, or a tax role in higher education, healthcare, or private foundations.
- CPA certification is required (JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) may be accepted in lieu of CPA).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of tax exempt regulations and laws.
