Experience Information:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in state and local tax, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Taxation or Political Science and certifications such as CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials.

Responsibilities:

As a State and Local Tax Manager at PwC, you will be responsible for:

- Providing clients with solutions related to income and franchise tax controversies, including developing strategies to manage tax burdens and identify opportunities resulting from changes in legislation and administrative policies.
- Working with a team of professionals to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Developing new skills outside of your comfort zone and taking ownership of your personal development.
- Analyzing complex ideas and proposals and providing meaningful recommendations.
- Using data and insights to inform decision-making and support conclusions.
- Managing a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties involved.

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 4 years of experience in state and local tax. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Taxation or Political Science and certifications such as CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials.

- Utilizing automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including working with large, complex data sets and utilizing tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.

- Staying up-to-date on industry insights and technical knowledge related to state and local tax laws.
