The Senior Associate Counsel, NA Client Deals will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support to the North America Sales and Client teams at Visa. This full-time position is based in San Francisco, CA and requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with a Bachelors Degree or 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree. The successful candidate will have strong people skills, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. They will also have a background in the payment services industry and knowledge of legal and regulatory landscape governing credit and debit cards, intellectual property law, and antitrust and competition law. Responsibilities: - Draft and negotiate complex business transactions with traditional and new payment system participants - Provide legal support to account executives managing global client relationships - Work closely with internal subject matter experts and regional attorneys - Draft, update, and manage template agreements for efficient contract administration - Develop business acumen and anticipate potential issues in a fast-paced environment - Prioritize and oversee a large number of legal matters - Maintain good standing in at least one jurisdiction in the United States and eligible to practice law - Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional teams - Translate complex legal concepts into practical advice for the business Qualifications: - 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced degree - Member in good standing in at least one jurisdiction in the United States and eligible to practice law - Strong people skills and experience working with diverse teams - Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills - Experience with drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions - Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple legal matters - Business acumen and understanding of the payment services industry and related legal and regulatory landscape - Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure - Ability to travel 5-10% of the time Additional Information: - This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely and in the office - Work hours vary based on department needs - Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more - Salary range for this position is $165, to $239, USD per year, with potential for sales incentive and equity Join Visa’s Legal and Ethics & Compliance group as a Senior Associate Counsel, NA Client Deals and play a critical role in supporting the company’s strategic initiatives in an increasingly competitive and diverse payments ecosystem.
