- Collaborates with others to find solutions to systemic issues caused by poverty and social justice inequities

About the Fellowship:
- Established in 2019 to encourage young attorneys interested in poverty law and racial justice
- Opportunity to gain experience with a nonprofit civil legal aid law firm in Alabama
- Possibility of working from any of LSA's statewide offices

Responsibilities:
- Advocate for clients at the intersection of poverty law and racial justice
- Collaborate with client communities and Alabama's network of pro bono attorneys
- Conduct outreach and training
- Organize free legal clinics and lead legal service projects
- Support access to justice for marginalized communities

Qualifications:
- Must be sitting for a Bar Exam in July 2024 or February 2025, or already licensed in any state
- Preference given to candidates licensed in Alabama
- Demonstrated interest in public interest law
- Lived or other meaningful and sustained experiences with marginalized communities
- Strong legal writing and communication skills
- Bilingual candidates preferred

Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: $54,810
- Six weeks of paid leave annually
