A law firm in Baltimore, MD, seeks a highly experienced Labor and Employment Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in the private and public sectors. The ideal candidate should possess a strong book of business, although exceptional candidates without one will also be considered. The firm is open to candidates with plaintiff- and employer-side experience. Multi-practice experience in labor and employment law, litigation, business, or transactional law is desirable.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on labor and employment matters.
  • Handle a diverse caseload involving litigation, arbitration, mediation, and negotiation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing employment policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, and DOL.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Maryland State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
  • Demonstrated experience in both private and public sector matters.
  • A strong book of business is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in plaintiff- and/or employer-side representation is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Maryland State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
  • Strong litigation skills, including courtroom experience.
