# Senior Staff Attorney
## Job Description
The Senior Staff Attorney position is responsible for providing legal services for all departments of the City of Montgomery. An employee of this class is responsible for conducting legal research and the drafting of legal opinions on a variety of subjects, advising city officials on legal matters, preparing legal documents and other official documents of the City, and for representing the City before courts, boards, commissions, and similar bodies.

The Senior Staff Attorney position is a full-time employment opportunity with a salary of $85, - $128,.

## Minimum Qualifications
In order to be considered for the Senior Staff Attorney position, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
* Graduation from a recognized law school
* Possession of a certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Alabama
* At least five years in the practice of law to include experience in federal court
* A minimum of two years of civil jury trial experience

## Kind of Examination
Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire. If more than five qualified applications are received, a selection procedure will be developed in order to rank applicants on the register.
