Organization: AIDS Legal Referral Panel (ALRP) Job Title: Staff Attorney, Insurance Benefits Experience Level: Experienced () Salary: $75,000-$90,000 (full-time) or $40,000-$48,000 (part-time, 20 hours per week) Location: San Francisco, CA (flexible work hours available) Job Type: Full-time or Part-time (20 hours per week) Responsibilities: - Provide direct advocacy and representation for people living with HIV/AIDS in insurance-related matters. - Conduct client intake interviews, provide information and referrals. - Develop litigation strategies for disability income and health insurance benefit matters. - Analyze and evaluate benefits under various programs including Social Security Administration, Medi-Cal, Medicare, ADAP, OA-HIPP, and private insurance. - Refer clients to service providers and volunteer Panel Attorneys. - Maintain accurate digital client files and prepare reports on activities. - Conduct outreach and educational presentations for clients and community members affected by HIV/AIDS. - Provide training to other local HIV/AIDS service providers. - Supervise law clerks and perform general administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications: - . - Experience working with vulnerable populations including people with mental health disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, and people from diverse backgrounds. - Commitment to public service and social justice. - Positive attitude and cooperative approach to lawyering. - Strong legal research and writing skills. - Bilingual or proficient in Spanish a plus. - Experience in litigation, negotiation, and mediation.
