Tax Senior - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations)

Job Title:

- Senior Tax Consultant

Experience Information:

- Minimum of 3 years experience in tax planning services or preparing client work papers and income tax returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM preferred
- Experience with Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and tax compliance process for real estate funds
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740 preferred
- Previous experience with Big 4 or large CPA firm preferred

Position Summary:

- Seeking experienced tax professional to join our growing team
- Opportunity to work with major players in the real estate industry and utilize latest tax technologies
- Responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to investment management clients
- Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for various entities and affiliates
- Perform reviews of partnership work papers, allocations, and tax returns
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced-level tax staff
- Work within a hybrid model, with 2-3 days per week in person and the rest remote

Responsibilities:

- Perform detail-level reviews of partnership work papers, allocations, and tax returns
- Prepare materials and research for consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities
- Coordinate and communicate with client contacts to gather information for tax returns
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced-level tax staff
- Attend required Deloitte Tax LLP and sector-specific trainings

The Team:

- Global leaders in providing professional services to the Investment Management industry
- Cross-functional industry group with over 2,800 partners, managers, and staff
- Provide assurance and advisory, tax, enterprise risk, regulatory, and consulting services
- Clients include investment advisers and administrators from all sectors of the industry

Qualifications:

- Ability to work within hybrid model
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office or eligible to sit for CPA exam
- Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or Chartered Financial Advisor/Certified Financial Planner
- Experience with Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and tax compliance process for real estate funds
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and clients served
