Overview:

- The Financial Services practice at RSM serves a range of clients in the asset management industry, including private equity funds, hedge funds, and FoF clients.
- As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to some of the most complex and well-known funds in the industry.
- You will also have the opportunity to train, develop, and mentor employees, manage client engagements, and contribute to new business development.

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze complex partnership tax returns for clients in the private equity, hedge fund, and/or FoF industry
- Mentor and develop employees through training and coaching, while providing performance feedback
- Communicate complex tax issues to clients in a non-technical manner and manage risk for both the client and the firm
- Serve as the primary client service coordinator for designated clients
- Advise clients on a range of tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities
- Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Assist with new business development and identify opportunities for extended services and tax issue recognition for existing clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional engagement teams across the tax practice
- Manage client needs and expectations while maintaining high-quality service

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of experience in business taxation with a Big 4 or large national, regional, or local accounting firm, or equivalent industry experience
- Active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA license
- Prior experience serving Asset Management clients
- Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Proven track record managing client engagements from start-to-finish
