Job Description:

- Responsible for analyzing risk, researching, interacting with agents, and making decisions on insurability of titles
- Make risk adverse, common sense underwriting decisions
- Respond to underwriting inquiries from agents in a timely manner
- Research, analyze, and interpret statutes, regulations, and court rulings
- Identify issues, establish transactional facts, and apply legal principles and underwriting guidelines
- Provide analysis and guidance on relevant federal and state laws
- Participate in the agent underwriting review process
- Support agency with recruitment and retention of agents
- Support Claims Department with state law analysis and practices
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner
- Ability to travel overnight
- Create and present educational and underwriting materials
- Prepare bulletins, alerts, memoranda, and other agent communications

Qualifications:

Required:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- License to practice law
- Experience with title insurance underwriting or claims
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to sit for majority of workday
- Specific vision abilities required

Preferred:
- Ability to work in an unsupervised, collaborative environment
- Proficient with internet research
- Exceptional presentation skills
