• Write legal briefs, motions, and other pleadings to support arguments in mediation or litigation processes
• Analyze and interpret state and federal laws to determine their impact on agency programs
• Advise agency management on potential legal issues and provide legal opinions on resolving them
• Represent the agency in legal proceedings and draft proposed legislation and amendments to current legislation
• May supervise a small administrative support staff and conduct interviews for agency vacancies

Requirements:
• Licensed to practice law and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar
• Minimum of three years of experience practicing law
• Ability to research, analyze, and interpret laws and provide legal guidance and technical assistance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of administrative support staff
