Job Overview:

The Tax Credit and Impact Finance Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal support in community development transactions, with a focus on new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), and renewable energy investment tax credits (RETCs). The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years of transactional experience and a strong interest in impact finance.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and transactional support in community development projects involving NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure and negotiate complex financing transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to federal income tax laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and financing documents.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to impact finance transactions.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of transactional experience.
  • Strong interest in community development transactions utilizing NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs.
  • Experience with NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs is helpful.
  • Candidates with commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are well-suited.
  • Active license to practice law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.
