Global Technology Legal Director & Associate General Counsel

3M is seeking a Global Technology Legal Director and Associate General Counsel to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position with the option for a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will provide legal support and counsel to our IT and Legal Affairs organizations on technology-related matters and initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and innovative team of 3Mers from around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of technology contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Advise on data privacy and security issues for technology contracts and related matters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and provide strategic counsel on technology initiatives
- Stay up-to-date on emerging legal trends in technology and contribute to the development of company information policies and practices
- Manage and resolve technology-related disputes, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making on technology-related projects
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on technology legal matters
- Coordinate with the Sourcing organization and Sourcing counsels on strategic IT sourcing initiatives
- Create and provide training on data protection playbooks, guidelines, and self-service tools

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership (preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in technology law in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to provide practical legal advice and manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced business environment
- Experience negotiating complex global technology contracts (preferred)
- Fluent in German (preferred)
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures (preferred)
- Understanding of and experience in advising clients in a diversified business environment (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and manage legal risks in a practical and objective manner
- Reputation for integrity and ability to balance business partnership with independent judgment
