Essential Functions:

- Represent the State of Texas in legal proceedings related to child support and medical support orders.
- Provide legal advice, consultation, and training to the Child Support Program.
- Develop skills in negotiation, mediation, and legal writing.
- Collaborate with other state agencies and community organizations to serve the needs of Texas families.
- Maintain knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code.
- Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues in a professional office environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond positively to constructive feedback.
- Work in person at assigned OAG work location and arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel.
- Lift and relocate up to 30 lbs and travel up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed attorney in the State of Texas.
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code.
- Skill in legal writing, mediation, and negotiation.
- Skill in trial advocacy, legal research, and effective communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish (preferred).
- Two years' experience in handling Family Law cases (preferred).
- Jury trial experience (preferred).
- Experience in handling a high-volume legal practice (preferred).

Salary Information:

- Salary range: $6, - $6, per month.
- State Job Code: 3510.
- Salary Admin Plan: B.
- Grade: 22.
- Overtime status: Exempt.
