Job Title: Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial - Public Sector
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Location: San Francisco, CA

Join the world's leading Identity Company, Okta, as a Senior Corporate Counsel for the Public Sector. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Okta's global public sector commercial legal program. We are looking for a highly knowledgeable and experienced individual, with a strong understanding of . government procurement processes and contracting laws, to lead our team and drive our public sector business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide overall management and oversight of legal support for public sector commercial transactions
- Negotiate and draft agreements with a variety of customers, including . public sector government agencies, government contractors, and systems integrators
- Serve as a thought leader and business partner to Okta's public sector sales, product, and engineering teams
- Collaborate with the Partner Team to build out Okta's public sector partner program
- Keep informed on applicable laws, government regulations, and industry guidance
- Assist in the design and implementation of public sector compliance programs
- Partner with revenue recognition, security, sales operations, and other teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal policies and processes
- Review and advise on marketing collateral for public sector customers
- Build relationships with legal colleagues and key stakeholders to provide practical legal and strategic advice
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects across the department to support business and strategic initiatives
- Champion Okta's core values

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience drafting and negotiating complex public sector transactions
- 5+ years of in-house experience, with at least 2 years of direct people management
- Deep understanding of . government procurement processes and contracting laws
- Experience with the SaaS business model and enterprise cloud computing
- Familiarity with revenue recognition issues and working with revenue and sales operations teams
- Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and team-oriented with a good sense of humor

- Must be able to establish . Person status upon hire
