Job Title: Sr. Legal Counsel, Litigation & Investigations Location: Washington, . Salary Range: $154,400 - $273,200 USD Overview: Databricks, a leading technology company, is seeking a Senior Counsel, Litigation & Investigations to join their legal team. This full-time position, based in Denver, Seattle, or Washington DC, will report to the Senior Director and Associate General Counsel, Global Employment and Litigation. The successful candidate will have a JD from an accredited institution and be licensed to practice law in Colorado, the state of Washington, or Washington, DC. They should also have 10+ years of experience in litigation/litigation management, investigations, and employment law, with experience in the tech sector preferred. Responsibilities: - Manage the strategic defense of domestic and global claims and litigation, including overseeing outside counsel, directing litigation strategy, and reviewing and finalizing legal documents. - Investigate and respond to pre-litigation matters, including negotiating resolutions and communicating with opposing counsel. - Partner with the Employee Relations team to manage and oversee investigations, including reviewing and finalizing investigation reports and providing advice on remedial measures. - Provide risk-adjusted advice to the People Team and other business partners on employment law matters. - Support the legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments. - Build and maintain a global litigation function, including identifying and implementing process improvements. - Anticipate potential litigation and provide proactive advice to mitigate legal risks. - Support other legal and business projects as assigned. Qualifications: - JD from an accredited institution and license to practice law in Colorado, the state of Washington, or Washington, DC. - 10+ years of experience in litigation/litigation management, investigations, and employment law. - Experience in the tech sector, particularly with cloud services and big data. - Strong aptitude for working in a dynamic environment and willingness to work on complex legal issues. - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others. - Extensive experience building cross-functional relationships. - Highest level of integrity and ethical standards. - Ability to quickly assess situations and develop practical solutions. - Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements.
