Introduction:

Legal Services for Children (LSC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated attorney/advocate to join their team as an Intake & Outreach Attorney/Advocate. This position offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact in the lives of children in the San Francisco Bay Area. LSC is a non-profit law firm that provides free legal representation and social work services to children, with a mission to ensure that all children have access to a safe environment and necessary services to thrive.

About Legal Services for Children:

LSC was founded in 1975 and is one of the first non-profit law firms in the country dedicated to serving children. They use an interdisciplinary approach, deploying attorney-social worker teams to assist children in accessing the legal system to improve their lives. LSC's attorneys represent children in legal matters such as guardianship, dependency, school discipline, and immigration. Their social workers provide crisis intervention, case management, counseling, and psychosocial assessments. LSC also engages in policy and advocacy projects to advance the rights of children.

About the Position:

The Intake & Outreach Attorney/Advocate will be responsible for managing LSC's Intake warm-line and Outreach efforts. This includes providing intake services and referrals, managing the warm-line, and engaging in outreach efforts to children, parents, community members, and partners. This position will also coordinate with LSC's legal interns and volunteers and provide direct representation for clients in at least one practice area.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Intake: Manage the warm-line, provide intake services and referrals, collaborate with attorneys and social workers, and create resources for interns and volunteers.
- Outreach: Establish relationships with community partners, provide training on services offered, and represent LSC at meetings and functions.
- Intern Coordination: Coordinate and mentor legal interns, assist with outreach efforts and training, and assist with coordination of intern assignments.
- Direct Representation: Provide representation for clients in at least one practice area, including client interviews, maintaining ,095 for an attorney with 0-5 years of experience and $64,405-$77,765 for an advocate with 2-7 years of experience.
