Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney

attorney with 4-8 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation. The position involves representation of international and domestic insurers with regards to all manner of liability policies, including fidelity, directors and officers, employment, professional, property, excess and commercial general liability policies. The opportunity is suited to someone who thrives within a busy, stimulating and fast-paced team environment, and has a strong interest in working on complex insurance coverage litigation matters.

The attorney will be ideally located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Irvine.

Responsibilities and requirements

Analyze insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients;
Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda;
Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with supporting briefs and other legal correspondence;
Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties;
Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required.

Skills and Abilities Required

Excellent legal research, writing and verbal communication skills;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to handle matters of a highly sensitive nature;
Ability to handle time sensitive matters, sometimes several simultaneously;
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
