Spencer Fane, a leading law firm, is currently seeking a talented Bankruptcy Associate to join our team in the Kansas City, MO office. Key Responsibilities:

- Represent clients in state and federal litigation related to insolvency, including bankruptcy, receivership, and other alternatives
- Conduct fact investigations and legal research, draft discovery and pleadings, and handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Interact with court personnel and opposing parties effectively
- Develop and implement legal strategies for clients
- Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic record
- Admission to a state bar, with the expectation to seek admission to Missouri and Kansas bars
- 2-5 years of litigation experience preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects efficiently
- Interest in and understanding of insolvency issues

Physical Requirements:

- Sedentary position with occasional need for inter-office mobility
- Ability to lift up to 10-20 lbs.
- Efficient communication skills
- Repetitive motions and visual acuity required
