Minimum qualifications:

JD, ., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with any of the following: conducting internal investigations related to threats made against companies or employees, officers or agents, physical corporate security; advising companies on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations; the legal mechanisms governing voluntary disclosure and the compelled disclosure of user data by service providers; and advising companies on referrals of criminal matters to law enforcement.
Excellent communication skills, and public speaking and team skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent stakeholder management/relationship building skills.
Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters.
Ability to travel.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal counsel to Google teams involved in mitigating physical and cybersecurity threats, such as the protection of employees, buildings, and campuses.
- Oversee the referral process to law enforcement agencies for criminal threats made on Google platforms.
- Counsel security teams on information security, investigations, and detection techniques.
- Advise on data-disclosure requests and promote the security of Google and its users.
- Communicate with government agencies and represent Google externally on online safety and security issues.
