A law firm in Washington . is actively seeking an experienced Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join its dynamic Energy and Infrastructure practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing financial institutions, commodity trading companies, energy marketers, project developers, and other entities in the rapidly evolving energy sector. The position involves handling a diverse range of physical and financial transactions, including project finance, securitization of energy assets, and structured transactions related to conventional and renewable energy sources.

 

Job Details:

  • Represent a variety of clients in the energy sector, including financial institutions, commodity trading companies, and project developers.
  • Handle a wide array of physical and financial transactions, including those related to energy transition.
  • Have experience in project finance and securitization of energy assets.
  • Negotiate and document structured transactions, hedging, offtake, and other trading arrangements for conventional and renewable electricity, environmental products, and natural gas.
  • Be conversant with credit and security documentation and standard master agreements used in the energy and commodities trading industry (., ISDA, EEI, NAESB).

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in Energy and Infrastructure law.
  • Admitted to practice law in Washington .
  • Strong experience in project finance and securitization of energy assets.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and documenting structured transactions, hedging, and other trading arrangements.
  • Familiarity with credit and security documentation.
  • Knowledge of standard master agreements in the energy and commodities trading industry (ISDA, EEI, NAESB).

 

Skills:

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to take on substantial roles in project management.
  • Comfortable with client interaction.
