A law firm is seeking an ERISA attorney–partner to join their team in Denver, CO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Job Overview: The ERISA attorney–partner will lead and oversee legal matters about executive compensation, benefit plans, and regulatory compliance for clients. This role requires extensive experience in ERISA law, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to develop new business opportunities.

Duties:

  • Designing, drafting, and consulting on legal issues involving executive compensation, severance, and executive equity plans
  • Assisting clients with matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)
  • Advising clients on benefit plans and executive compensation issues in mergers and acquisitions
  • Counseling on the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of employee benefit plans
  • Educating clients on legislative and regulatory developments and proposing solutions
  • Drafting and interpreting defined contribution plans and defined benefit plans
  • Consulting on legal issues related to the administration and compliance of health, welfare, and fringe benefit plans
  • Developing new clients and business contacts

Requirements:

  • . from an ABA-accredited school
  • Admitted to practice in Colorado or ability to be admitted to the Colorado Bar
  • 10+ years of experience in qualified retirement plans, employee benefit plans in mergers and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), executive compensation, fringe benefits, and/or health and welfare plans
