Calm, the #1 app for sleep, meditation, and relaxation, is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Counsel to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization's compliance with domestic and international legal frameworks. With a focus on privacy-by-design and data governance, you will help us continue to expand access to mental health resources for individuals and organizations alike. This is a remote position, with candidates in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or NYC preferred.

What You'll Do:
- Drive legal work streams and create processes to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Work cross-functionally to develop and implement privacy-by-design principles
- Assess compliance vulnerability and risk, provide actionable advice, and develop action plans to mitigate potential risks
- Review and assess new products, features, and data usage for compliance with laws and regulations
- Monitor and anticipate developments in the regulatory landscape
- Create and advise on policies, processes, and internal controls related to products, data, employment, and corporate structure

Who You Are:
- A licensed attorney with at least 8 years of related experience
- Experienced in advising on regulatory compliance in areas such as product and corporate compliance, privacy, healthcare, consumer protection, and employment
- A strong communicator with exceptional project management skills
- Intellectually curious and passionate about technology
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment

- Additional specific experience, education, or certificates that will help you succeed in this role

Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as an attorney advising on regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international laws and regulations
- Excellent understanding of privacy-by-design principles and data governance frameworks

Salary Information:
- Anticipated salary range: $166,700 - $233,400
- Eligible for equity, comprehensive benefits, 401k, and flexible time off
