The ideal candidate will have experience in Bodily Injury Auto, Bodily Injury Commercial, Bodily Injury Homeowners, Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Complex Commercial, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Property Damage, Trucking Defense, Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist, and Wrongful Death. They must also be located in the Sacramento, CA area.

As a Senior Trial Attorney, you will represent clients independently as lead counsel or as part of a team. You will handle a mix of cases, varying in complexity, severity, product lines, and specialized concentrations, in all courts and agencies in the assigned jurisdiction(s). You will be responsible for maintaining a highly productive case volume and staying updated on changes to the law, technology, and other aspects of the legal and insurance industries.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and an active license in the state where the position is located. They should have at least eight years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation. Other important skills and abilities include strong written and verbal communication, negotiation skills, analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to changes in the law and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate trial advocacy skills independently or as part of a team
- Manage cases efficiently and effectively according to Nationwide's guidelines and expectations
- Stay updated on changes in the law, technology, and other aspects of the legal and insurance industries
- Provide factually, legally, and analytically sound opinions on case valuations
- Maintain professional relationships with key associates and clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, claims, and internal teams
- Serve as a mentor for junior attorneys and staff
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license in the state where the position is located
