As the Senior Legal Counsel for Products and Services at Splunk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and compliance of our unified security and observability platform. In this hybrid remote position, you will work closely with key internal business and technology partners on strategic and day-to-day legal matters related to the development and release of Splunk offerings. Salary Information:
- Base Pay Range: $216, - $297, per year (SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area)
- Base Pay Range: $194, - $267, per year (California, Washington, Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts)
- Base Pay Range: $174, - $239, per year (All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area)
- Incentive compensation and equity or long-term cash awards may also be included in the compensation package.

Job Description:
- Splunk is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to support various solutions groups and business teams.
- This role involves working closely with key internal partners on strategic and day-to-day legal matters.
- You will ensure production readiness, build scalable compliance strategies, and address customer requirements.
- The position reports to the Director, Products and Marketing (Legal).
- Success in this role requires excellent business judgment, critical thinking, and a strong work ethic.
- You should also possess the ability to use business context to generate effective legal solutions.
- You will work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Building trusted relationships with cross-functional partners is crucial to success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Support product development, readiness, and releases by reviewing product release checklists.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with senior managers.
- Engage with product team members, including product managers, field strategists, and software engineers.
- Support M&A activities, including diligence and integration.
- Review, draft, and negotiate technology agreements.
- Perform due diligence to ensure compliance with third-party agreements, open source licenses, and regulations.
- Develop positive and collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Pitch in on other responsibilities as needed.

Must-have Qualifications:
- JD degree from ABA accredited university and member in good standing of the Bar.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience providing legal support to technology businesses.
- At least 6 years in the software/SaaS industry.
- Ability to understand technical lingo and enterprise software development methods.
- Expertise in intellectual property, open source issues, data privacy, and product security.
- Deep experience and knowledge in reviewing and negotiating technology license agreements.
- Experience working with software developers and product managers.
