Our Program:

- Curriculum encourages self-reflection, personal growth, and building a professional network
- Individualized guidance and valuable legal work experience
- Learn about unique challenges faced by low-income and marginalized communities
- Prepare to be a thoughtful and compassionate advocate for justice

Poverty Law Orientation:

- Two-day training in May at our office in Harrisburg
- Foundation for understanding various legal areas
- Practical insights into networking, professionalism, and building attorney skillsets

Client Interactions:

- Conduct initial client interviews
- Attend client meetings
- Accompany mentors at hearings, trials, and administrative proceedings

Legal Work:

- Conduct factual investigation
- Perform legal research
- Draft legal documents and memoranda

Drum Major Essay Collection:

- Required essay about experiences
- Compiled into a volume and presented at our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Summer Internship Reception
- Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the impact of our interns' work
