Director, Regulatory Compliance (Finance & IT) Compliance Move forward with us! At NJ TRANSIT, you'll join us in transforming the third-largest transportation agency in North America. MAIN FUNCTIONS: Coordinates with business units (., Finance, Information Technology, and Capital Programs) on the application for, regulatory compliance of, and financial monitoring of federal and state grants and any other budgetary or monetary awards. Establishes standards and implements procedures to identify, prevent, detect, and correct grant funding compliance gaps, if found, in connection with applicable federal and state rules, standards, and guidance. Monitors grant funding updates to remain up to date on the status of funding compliance activities and to identify trends. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Provides guidance to and training for business units on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing changes. Prepares responses to audits, reviews, or inquiries by federal, state, internal or external auditors, regulators, or other monitors. Researches and provides advice and guidance on federal and state grant programs. Works to expand the funding capacity in support of initiatives and programs set forth by the federal and state government. Collaborates and coordinates the completion of grant funding compliance documentation. Ensures information required to be publicly reported is up to date and accurate. Performs special reviews of projects or other assignments as needed. Prepares clear, concise, accurate and timely communications, as needed. Assists Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Accountability Officer with Integrity Monitoring Programs. Coordinates with other NJ TRANSIT divisions and departments to understand relevant policies, procedures and guidelines that apply to federal and state funding programs, and ensure that such policies, procedures, and guidelines are implemented. Assist and support the Deputy Chiefs and Chief Compliance Officer with any other duties as may be necessary. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree, and seven (7) years of compliance, auditing, legal, corporate governance, or regulatory experience. Juris Doctorate, CPA, Master’s Degree or post-graduate degree is preferred. Ability to work with all levels of management and staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities. Ability to independently plan and organize work and manage multiple priorities.
