This role will focus on managing and resolving disputes and litigation matters for the East Ohio Gas Company, advising internal clients on sound legal and risk analyses, and ensuring alignment with Enbridge’s business objectives. Responsibilities: - Provide legal advice and litigation support to East Ohio Gas Company and other Enbridge Gas Distribution & Storage (GDS) businesses - Litigate cases, advise on pre-litigation disputes, and manage internal and external legal resources for these matters - May manage paraprofessionals and train less experienced lawyers or claims professionals - Direct, monitor and coordinate outside counsel and internal resources - Draft, review and negotiate legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, licenses, easements, leases, sales and service agreements, and public permits - Review and draft responses to union RFI’s and respond to other union communications - Counsel and advise clients on legal, regulatory, and local external affairs matters - Monitor applicable local, state, and federal legislative and regulatory actions - Provide clients with legal and risk analyses and recommended courses of action - Respond to interrogatories, hire outside experts, and coordinate company experts - Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial - Develop strategy for trial or settlement Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in OHIO (or other acceptable states) - Minimum of 8 years of experience in tort and commercial litigation - Experience with state public utility laws and regulations - Detailed knowledge of strategic business values and objectives - Independent judgement, initiative, and ability to work directly with clients Requirements: - Good analytical, advocacy, and presentation skills - Strong people skills and basic business sense - Awareness of the industry Working Conditions: - Typical office work environment - Up to 25% travel Enbridge offers competitive workplace programs, including FlexWork (Hybrid Work Model), which allows eligible employees to work variable daily schedules, opt for a compressed workweek, and work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.
