# Tax Manager, Alternative Investments

Are you an experienced Tax Manager looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate clients?

BDO is looking for a Tax Manager to join our Alternative Investments practice. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing tax compliance & consulting services to our clients, leading complex engagements with a team of tax professionals and ensuring/documenting client work and conclusions in the client tax file.

## Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

To be successful in this role, you must have:

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
* Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred
* More than four (4) years of prior tax experience, required
* Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds, preferred
* Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships, preferred
* CPA, Licensed Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent, required
* CFP or Masters in Tax, preferred
* Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat, preferred
* Experience with tax research databases, preferred
* Proficient in tax compliance process software, preferred
* Solid verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to follow instructions as directed by members of Tax Team
* Takes appropriate actions without being asked
* Seeks advice of appropriate superiors regarding issues, problems related to compliance

## Salary Information

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. Here are some examples of salary ranges for this position:

* California Range: $102,300 - $150,000
* Colorado Range: $110,000 - $130,000
* New York City/ Valhalla Range: $110,000 - $150,000
* Washington Range: $86,000 - $115,000
