A law firm in Akron is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 8+ years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently managing files through trial in various insurance defense areas, including auto accidents, general personal injury, premises liability, and construction litigation.

Duties:

• Manage files independently from inception to trial in insurance defense cases.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff as needed.
• Stay updated on legal developments and case law relevant to practice areas.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Ohio.
• 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense.
• Strong trial experience and ability to handle cases independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Ohio.
