The candidate should preferably have 5+ years of experience, including 3 years specialized in higher education regulatory matters. Play a vital role in advising and representing clients on complex regulatory matters within the higher education sector, including on Title IV, financial aid, accreditation, structural changes/changes in ownership (mergers & acquisitions), and general higher education compliance. Contribute to the development of firm knowledge and educational resources related to higher education law. Have demonstrated experience with Title IV, accreditation, and/or institutional structural changes/changes in ownership within the higher education landscape. Previous work with higher education regulatory agencies, accrediting agencies, and/or in-house at educational institutions is valued, and preferred experience includes work on matters related to privacy law (beyond FERPA), research, healthcare, consumer finance, student funding mechanisms, accreditor recognition requirements, or foreign school operations. Should ideally have excellent academic credentials. Should have an active Bar license in CA or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
