Organization Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, part of Michigan Statewide Advocacy Services (MSAS) H1: Join Our Team as a Staff Attorney for Immigrant Worker Rights H2: Make a Difference in the Lives of Immigrant Communities The Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC) is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated attorney to join our team as a Staff Attorney for our Farmworker and Immigrant Worker Rights team. This is a full-time position with a salary starting at $60,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate will handle a caseload of employment and immigrant rights cases, including federal and state litigation, and collaborate with local community advocates. The Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC) is a legal resource center for immigrant communities, providing direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education and engagement. MIRC is part of Michigan Statewide Advocacy Services (MSAS), a non-profit law firm that works to increase access to justice for low-income and senior individuals through various statewide programs. MSAS is administered by the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP), which aims to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those most affected by poverty, racism, and other oppressive systems. We are looking for applicants who are licensed to practice law in Michigan, qualified to be admitted by waiver, or able to take the next Michigan bar exam. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to protecting the rights of immigrants or other persons in poverty. Proficiency with major software and web services such as Word, Excel, G Suite, and a reliable internet connection is required. Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is also required.
