The Senior Trial Attorney position based in Chicago is a full-time remote role with a competitive salary range of $123,000 to $209,000 per year. As a Senior Trial Attorney, you will handle moderately complex litigation cases involving the corporation and its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility. You may also have the opportunity to develop areas of specialty practice such as special property, workers' compensation, environmental law, and commercial coverage. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Legal and requires an Illinois license and the ability to travel throughout Cook and adjacent counties. Key Responsibilities: - Handle moderately complex litigation cases involving the corporation and its insured - Analyze files and evaluate cases for potential settlement - Conduct discovery, motion practice, and necessary research to support drafting activities - Advocate for client position in all forums, including state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals, and regulatory hearings - Stay updated on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how they affect policy provisions - Potentially develop areas of specialty practice Qualifications: - Insurance litigation experience - Strong knowledge of Illinois Rules of Professional Responsibility, tort law, contract law, and insurance law - Illinois license - Located in or near Chicago - Ability to travel throughout Cook and adjacent counties - Juris Doctor degree This is primarily a remote position, with the opportunity to work from home 3-4 days per week.
