Counsel, Workers' Compensation Claim - Remote

Overview:

- Compensation: Annual base salary range is nationwide market range
- Actual salary determined by factors such as role scope, complexity, and location
- Performance-based cash incentive awards

Responsibilities:

- Develop and apply effective trial skills and techniques to litigate cases to verdict
- Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong and persuasive writing and presentation skills
- Supervise research projects and delegate tasks to Associate Counsel and paralegals
- Draft legal documents, attend court events and appointments independently
- Learn and understand client expectations, provide recommendations and case analysis
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners
- Utilize support staff and technology effectively and adhere to best practices
- Travel as required for business needs
- Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of prior litigation practice or legal experience
- Exposure to insurance litigation preferred
- Track record of trial skills and techniques
- Ability to articulate position clearly and concisely
- Ability to analyze legal issues with minimal supervision
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal work
- Collaborative team player
- Demonstrates legal acumen and commitment to professional development
- Strong research and negotiation skills
- Strong decision making and problem solving abilities
- Sense of urgency and responsiveness

Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate from accredited law school
- Minimum of one year of litigation practice or prior legal experience
- Active license in good standing to practice law in required state(s)
- Valid driver's license (depending on location)
