A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Cyber/Data/Privacy Associate Attorney or Special Counsel with a high level of academic achievement, the ability to engage directly with clients, lead significant projects, possess general tech fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects in the areas of cyber, data, and privacy law.
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies).
  • Defend against data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues and/or defending data privacy and security class actions.
  • High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
  • General tech fluency.
  • Impeccable analytical and writing skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from a nationally recognized law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in cyber, data, or privacy law are a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • General tech fluency.
