A law firm in Washington, ., is seeking an Electrical and/or Computer Engineer Technical Specialist. The successful candidate will perform research into developing technologies, prepare reports, assist in patent applications, and maintain docket deadlines. The role requires expertise in specialties such as 5G and LTE wireless communications, semiconductors, and computer architecture, along with a genuine interest in applying scientific and research experience to the IP and patent law field.

 

Job Details:

  • Perform research into developing and emerging technologies.
  • Prepare written and oral reports for attorneys and/or patent agents.
  • Assist and prepare patent applications and other Patent Office filings.
  • Interact with inventors to obtain disclosures.
  • Maintain and organize prosecution files.
  • Assist with prosecution of foreign patent applications by preparing letters of instruction to foreign associates.
  • Maintain and monitor docket of work due dates.

 

Requirements:

  • Have expertise in one or more specialties: 5G and LTE wireless communications, semiconductor knowledge, computer architecture, chip architecture, microprocessors, and advanced microprocessors.
  • Genuine interest in applying scientific and research experience to the IP and patent law field.
  • A GEEKy hobby is a plus! Ask about our GEEK WEEK gatherings.
  • Masters or PhD preferred in electrical engineering and/or computer engineering.
  • Preferred: Masters or better in Computer Engineering; Masters or better in Electrical Engineering; PHD or better in Computer Engineering; PHD or better in Electrical Engineering.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in a needed area (., 5G/wireless communications, computer architecture, semiconductors, AI, machine learning, software engineering).
