Position: Summer Legal Intern

Introduction:
- LFC's highly competitive summer legal internship program
- Selection of approximately nine law students from across the country
- Focus on legal, ethical, and practice skills for advocating for children and young adults
- Ten-week program with direct supervision from one or two attorneys
- Formal training program and opportunities for special projects
- Second-year students can present cases in court

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with attorneys to prepare cases for trial
- Conduct legal research and draft memos of law
- Draft motions and orders to show cause
- Participate in client interviews

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in law school
- Strong interest in child welfare and high conflict custody cases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
