Counsel, Public Affairs - Job Summary:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Counsel in the Public Affairs Section of the Legal Department to support the Company's engagement efforts on public affairs related items. This role will involve providing guidance on legal matters, researching and analyzing regulations and legislation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of law experience and active State Bar membership.

Responsibilities:

- Provide guidance and advice on legal matters to internal clients to assist with risk assessment, planning, and policy decisions
- Research and analyze proposed regulations and legislation to identify compliance requirements for the Company
- Collaborate with other departments and external parties to address legal and risk issues in the best interest of Wells Fargo
- Participate in initiatives and provide guidance to less experienced counsel or paralegals
- Partner with outside counsel on engagements
- Utilize online research tools and navigate internal databases to gather information
- Stay up-to-date on legislative and regulatory processes and changes

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of law experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Active State Bar membership
- Experience as a practicing attorney preferred
- Knowledge of political law matters preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Knowledge of Wells Fargo's businesses, services, and product lines
