Job Overview: A law firm in Baltimore, MD, seeks a dynamic and experienced bankruptcy litigation associate attorney to join its busy bankruptcy practice. Duties:

  • Take depositions and argue motions and contested matters in state and federal courts.
  • Receive training opportunities with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Collaborate across practice groups and offices.
  • Engage in business development activities to potentially grow into a partnership.
  • Work remotely two days per week.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience litigating bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights and insolvency-related matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, local rules, UCC, and secured transactions.
  • Significant experience in motions practice, contested matters, and/or adversary proceedings.
  • Fast thinker able to respond and pivot well in court and under pressure.
  • Experience in preparing or materially assisting in the preparation of many depositions.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excel in a team environment.
  • Keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills.
  • Prior experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent law school credentials and references.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar or ability to waive into the Maryland Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and related regulations.
  • Research and writing proficiency.
