In this role, you will be responsible for providing tax consulting, specializing in international tax, to clients and supervising tax professionals on assigned engagements. You will also play a critical role in marketing and business development, as well as serving as a source of guidance for international tax questions and issues within the office and region. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement practical international tax consulting ideas for clients - Ensure compliance with firm policy regarding Written Tax Advice (WTA) - Act as industry expert in international tax and serve as . resource for tax matters with selected foreign jurisdictions - Manage international tax services for assigned clients, including pricing structure assessment - Identify opportunities for tax alerts and collaborate with National Tax Office on drafting - Exhibit thought leadership in a specialized area within international tax - Work with Specialized Tax Services and International Tax Partners to develop and execute an effective marketing plan - Identify complex situations requiring research and conduct detailed analysis - Manage client engagements and conduct detailed review of international tax aspects of . tax reporting - Represent clients before . tax authorities on international tax aspects of contested issues - Apply standards, firm policies, and BDO Tax Quality Manual requirements - Supervise and mentor tax professionals on assigned engagements - Deliver periodic performance feedback and complete performance evaluations - Act as mentor for tax professionals at all levels Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferred - ., LLM, and/or MST/MBT, preferred - 8+ years of prior experience in corporate tax, international tax, legal professional services or equivalent experience gained through an advanced degree program - Experience in international tax, required - Experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis, required - CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis and/or Westlaw, preferred - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent analytical, legal, and tax research skills - Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines - Ability to successfully multi-task and work independently or within a team - Proven ability to manage a team and delegate work assignments - Strong relationship-building skills with internal and client personnel - Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000, with a similar range for the NYC/Long Island/Westchester area.
