Summary:

BDO, a leading accounting and advisory organization, is seeking a highly experienced Tax Senior Manager for their Core Tax Services division, specializing in Real Estate and Construction. The Senior Manager will be responsible for advising clients on tax implications, identifying ways to minimize tax burden and compliance costs, and acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. They will also be a critical member of the regional leadership team, actively participating in business development and maintaining client relationships. The salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $200,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide tax compliance services for clients, ensuring they comply with all applicable authorities and minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Conduct top-level review of tax returns and resolve any tax issues with the client.
- Identify when research is needed and provide clear and concise analysis.
- Apply knowledge of ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals and ensure compliance with Firm policies and standards.
- Assist with developing and implementing tax strategies to decrease client taxes and manage risk.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of one or more areas of taxation and share expertise with team members.
- Introduce and implement new ideas to improve client and Firm position.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
- Act as a Career Advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Manage workload and provide performance feedback to team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
- CPA certification, Attorney, or IRS Enrolled Agent required.
- 8+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or consulting/professional services.
- Prior supervisory experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to delegate work and manage a team.
- Executive presence and ability to act as the primary client contact.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with tax research databases and compliance software.
