Job Title: Vice President, Counsel - US Legal Team Department: Legal Location: Chicago / New York / Atlanta Salary: $175,000 - $190,000 a year Edelman, a global communications firm, is seeking a Vice President, Counsel to join their US Legal team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in contracts, intellectual property, corporate and labor/employment and will play an important role in the team by serving as a primary point of contact for legal matters. Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, such as professional services agreements, procurement and vendor supply agreements, confidentiality agreements, and licensing arrangements. - Prepare corporate maintenance documents, including minutes, resolutions, powers of attorney, and more. - Serve as a business partner to the team and collaborate with colleagues within the legal department. - Work independently and manage projects with limited oversight. - Identify substantive issues and provide alternative solutions. - Possess strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy in work. - Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Qualifications: - Law degree and admission to state bar. - 2-5 years of in-house corporate/commercial or law firm experience. - Knowledge and experience in contracts, intellectual property, corporate and labor/employment. - Ability to work independently and manage projects with limited oversight. - High attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Ability to learn quickly. - Highly efficient and able to handle a large volume of work. Edelman offers a competitive compensation package for employees, which includes a salary range of $175,000 - $190,000 a year. Factors considered for an employee's pay position within the range include education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, and business needs.
