Job Description:

- Lowenstein Sandler, a leading law firm, is looking for a highly qualified Patent Attorney to join our Intellectual Property team in either Roseland, NJ; Centerville, UT; or Palo Alto, CA.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications for software, specifically in areas such as operating systems, middleware software, directory servers, network management, virtualization, and cloud computing.
- A degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is required, along with work experience as a software developer.
- Must be admitted to the USPTO.

Responsibilities:

- Draft, prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications for software, with a focus on areas such as operating systems, middleware software, directory servers, network management, virtualization, and cloud computing.
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to patent applications.
- Communicate with clients and colleagues regarding patent applications and related matters.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in patent laws and regulations.
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines.

Requirements:

- 3rd year or higher experience as a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent.
- Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Work experience as a software developer.
- Admitted to the USPTO.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
