Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on export controls, EAR, ITAR, OFAC/economic sanctions, and international trade matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their international trade needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay current with international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, compliance manuals, and regulatory filings.
  • Represent clients in international trade-related negotiations, disputes, and government inquiries.
  • Assist with CFIUS filings and reviews, if required.
  • Keep clients informed about changes in international trade laws and regulations that may affect their business operations.
  • Support senior attorneys with more complex cases and provide mentorship to junior associates as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington, DC Bar Association.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on export controls, EAR, ITAR, OFAC/economic sanctions, international trade, and/or CFIUS matters.
  • Prior government experience is considered an advantage.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
